gromi - Privacy Policy
gromi compares ride fares across Gojek, Grab, inDrive and Maxim, and can remind you when a saved trip is due. This policy covers the gromi app, its App Clip and this website, gromi.id.
Last updated 17 October 2026
gromi needs your pickup and destination in order to get fares, so those coordinates, and the names of the places you picked, are sent to the ride providers to be quoted. If you turn on reminders, gromi keeps that trip and your email address so it can notify you, and any places you save are kept with your account. gromi only sends you news and offers if you turn that on. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared with data brokers, there is no advertising identifier, and there is no tracking across other companies' apps or websites. You can delete your account, and everything gromi keeps with it, from inside the app.
What gromi collects
Your location. The pickup and destination you choose, and the names of the places you pick. This is collected every time you ask for fares, because it is the question being asked. If you save a reminder, that trip is stored - both sets of coordinates, the place names, the days and the time, and the providers you chose - until you delete it.
Places you save. If you save places such as Home and Work, gromi keeps their names, addresses and coordinates with your account, so they are there on a new phone, until you delete them or your account.
Your email address and name, and the stable account identifier Apple or Google gives us when you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Only if you sign in, which is only needed for reminders and saved places. The identifier is what lets your reminders survive a reinstall or a new phone. With Google, the email address is kept only if Google has verified it. Your name is whatever Apple shares the first time you sign in with Apple (you can choose not to share it), or the name on your Google account; it is only used to show you who you are signed in as, on the Profile tab.
A notification token, only if you allow notifications. It is how a reminder reaches your phone. It is used for news and offers about gromi only if you turn on News and offers in the Profile tab, which is off until you do. gromi keeps that choice with your account, along with when you last changed it, and you can turn it off there at any time. The picture in a notification, such as a reminder's route, is downloaded by your phone from gromi.id.
Usage and diagnostics. Which screens you open and which actions you take, plus the app version, your device model, a device identifier, and any crash or performance data. This is used to see which features are worth keeping and to fix crashes.
What gromi does not collect
There is no advertising identifier, and no tracking of you across other companies' apps or websites. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.
Usage and crash reports never carry your coordinates, the names of places you searched, your email address, your name or any account token - they record that something happened, not where you were. Place searches, and the point the list of nearby places is built around, are passed to place-search services to fetch results. gromi keeps no record of them; the results are cached in memory for up to a day, with nothing that says who asked.
Your app preferences, such as the default providers, vehicle and appearance, stay on your phone.
To suggest destinations during commute hours, gromi remembers on your phone the destinations you pick: the place's name and location, when you picked it, and where you were at the time. This history never leaves your phone and is not sent to gromi or anyone else. It keeps at most your last 300 picks, nothing older than 120 days, and is deleted when you sign out, delete your account, or delete the app. The App Clip keeps the same history in its own storage, which iOS deletes with the App Clip.
gromi never books a ride and never takes a payment for one; it hands you to the provider's own app to do that. A gromi Pro subscription is paid through Apple. Either way, gromi never sees your payment details. It does not ask for your contacts, photos, microphone, camera or health data.
Who else sees it
Google provides the map, the place search and the route geometry, and handles Sign in with Google if you choose it. Foursquare and OpenStreetMap receive the point the nearby-places list is built around, to say what is near it. Firebase, also Google, is the only analytics service: it receives the usage and crash reports described above, under an account identifier that is not your email or your Apple or Google account. RevenueCat runs gromi Pro subscriptions: it receives your purchases and subscription status from Apple, under that same account identifier, so a subscription follows your account to a new phone. It also receives the Firebase identifier of your installation of the app, so the subscription events it hears from Apple, such as a free trial starting, a renewal or a cancellation, can be added to gromi's usage reports in Firebase. Apple handles Sign in with Apple, delivers the notifications, and takes the payment for gromi Pro.
How long it is kept
Reminders, saved places, your News and offers choice and your account are kept until you delete them. Reminder history keeps the last 60 results per reminder and discards older ones automatically. Fares you look up without saving are not stored at all.
Deleting your data
In the app, open the Profile tab, then Delete account. That removes your account, your email address and name, your News and offers choice, every saved reminder, all reminder history, every saved place, your notification token and every stored route image, and if you signed in with Google it also removes gromi's access to your Google account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Deleting your account does not cancel a gromi Pro subscription, because Apple bills it: cancel it in your Apple ID's subscription settings. Apple and RevenueCat keep their own record of the purchase.
You can also simply sign out, or delete individual reminders: open one and choose Delete reminder, or swipe it away in the list. Saved places are removed from Profile. Notifications and location access can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings - gromi keeps working without either, it just cannot send you reminders, or centre the map on you.
This website
gromi.id sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has nothing to sign in to. Like any web server, it records each request in its logs - the IP address, the page or picture asked for, the time and the browser - and those logs are used only to keep the site running and secure. The map on the home page is drawn from CARTO and its fonts come from Google Fonts, so opening that page also sends your IP address to those two services.
