Which ride-hailing app is cheapest in Jakarta?
None is always cheapest. The fare for the same trip moves with the time of day, the weather, demand and whatever promotion is running, so the cheapest app this morning may not be the cheapest this evening. The only sure way is to compare for your trip, right then. That is what Gromi does: every fare side by side, cheapest on top.
How are ride-hailing fares set in Indonesia?
The Ministry of Transportation sets a floor and a ceiling for the per-kilometre fare of app-based motorbike taxis, by zone, and Greater Jakarta has a zone of its own. Within those limits each app sets its own price, then adds service fees, peak-hour adjustments or discounts. That is why the final price is rarely the same, even for the same distance.
Why does the same trip cost different amounts?
The price is worked out again every time you check: distance and travel time, rush hour, rain, how many drivers are nearby, and each app’s own promotions. The gap between apps can change from one hour to the next.
Is a motorbike ride cheaper than a car?
